The difference between happy people* and unhappy people is that one person is believing the truth, and the other person if believing a lie. This is proven scripturally. In John 8:32, Jesus said, "And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." It is the 'knowing' and the 'applying' of truth in our lives that sets us free from misery and defeat. So then, where does strong faith come in? Strong faith comes into play in that you must have more faith in the truth, than you have in the lie (as it applies to the circumstance at hand). A strong faith in the truths of life allows you to sail through difficult times in life with ease and confidence. But a weak faith or a weak understanding of how life works in the particular area you are dealing with, hinders your ability to react properly to life, and will sooner or later cause you to lose your happiness. So, how do we resolve the problems in life that bring us down? To resolve the problems in life, you must find out what the truth is, as it relates to the problem at hand, and then meditate on the truths until your heart finally believes the truth. Once your heart is convinced, the battle is over, and peace once again reigns in your heart and mind. Remember this little saying: "Believing the truth makes you happy, believing the lie makes you sad." That is a simple-sounding paraphrase of the above Bible verse (John 8:32), but it is non-the-less an accurate interpretation. If your feelings are negative, it is doubtless that you are believing a lie. So, search for the truth in that situation. Find it, then apply it, until you believe it, and life will once again be good again. An excellent source of truth to meditate on are those found in the Bible. There are two kinds of happy people. There are the genuine happy
people who are basically upright people who do right, and there are
those who are deceived. They do what is wrong, thinking that what they are doing is ok, and
thus are happy doing it. Their happiness will be
short lived, because in the end their actions will cause them deep sorrow.
